Founding Architectural Professional

New Practice Guernsey

Flexible hours | Permanent | Not specified | Construction & Property

https://jobs.gg/vacancy/25555/founding-architectural-professional

Founding Architectural Professional – Build a New Guernsey Practice

Guernsey

This isn't a typical architecture vacancy.

We're looking for a driven individual with experience in architecture or architectural design who wants the opportunity to help build a new practice in Guernsey from the ground up.

You could be an architect, senior architectural technician or technologist, or simply someone with strong industry experience and the ambition to take the next step.

The foundations are already in place. The business, brand, website and initial infrastructure have been created. What's missing is the right person to take it forward.

You may have thought about starting your own practice but haven't wanted to do it alone. Or perhaps you've reached the point where you want more ownership, autonomy and influence than a traditional role can offer.

We're deliberately open-minded about qualifications and experience. We're much more interested in finding the right person: someone who knows the industry, is good at what they do, enjoys working with clients and has the drive to help build a successful business.

This is an opportunity to influence everything from the projects we pursue and how we work with clients, to the culture, reputation and future direction of the practice.

If the idea of building something rather than simply joining something appeals to you, we'd like to hear from you.

Production Team

Offshore Electronics Ltd

Full-time | Permanent | Office | Manufacturing

https://jobs.gg/vacancy/25538/production-team

⚪ Production Team - Join a High-Tech, High-Energy Team! ⚪
All applicants to make contact with CV's and/or covering letters by 21st August . No Prior Experience needed.

We’re looking for a group of motivated and hands-on individuals to join our fast-paced production team covering various roles around our factory.

What we make at Offshore Electronics Ltd:
Our team manufactures a wide range of high-performance electronic products used across diverse industries. We specialise in high-performance electronics for demanding sectors, including offshore energy systems, marine safety and communication devices, unmanned systems, industrial control systems, automotive components, and medical equipment. If it requires precision, reliability, and innovation, we help build it.

About the roles:
In these full-time roles, you’ll be at the heart of our cutting-edge manufacturing, working with various processes and teams. During the probation period we will use this time to see where your skills lie and where they might be suited or if additional training needs to be. If you have experience in manufacturing or fulfilment, even better!

Tasks can include manually assembly of electronic components onto circuit boards using a soldering iron, hand placement of parts and following build packs. Key skills you will develop will be excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and knowledge of different soldering techniques.

As technology develops, Offshore invests in the latest machinery and therefore we often need members of the team to operate modern placement machines to build state-of-the-art electronic circuit boards for our global customers. Some of these machines are now capable of running at a speed of placing 90,000 components an hour, so whilst the machine is running at lightning speeds, you need to be ready for the next job on the line, often de-kitting, and re-kitting a machine a few times a day.

Other responsibilities can involve more than just soldering, often including tasks such as repairing components, building enclosures or cable assembly, inspecting assemblies, and helping with labelling, packaging and logistics.

All our team pride themselves in maintaining a clean work environment leaving their workstation clean and tidy for the next day.

Why you’ll love working with Us:
• Hands-on role in a high-tech environment – perfect for anyone who enjoys learning by doing.
• Full training provided – no prior experience needed, just a great attitude and a willingness to learn!
• Regular factory-wide sports and social events along with volunteering opportunities.
• Supportive team culture – work alongside skilled professionals in a collaborative setting to get the most out of our production facility.

Attractive benefits package, including:
o 38½ hour week
o Early finish every Friday (12 noon!)
o 4 weeks’ holiday (rising to 5 weeks after one year)
o Private Health Insurance
o Free onsite parking
Whether you’re looking to kickstart your career or try something new, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow with one of Guernsey’s leading electronics manufacturers.

  • Start date: October 2026 (future start dates may be considered)
  • Role: Full-time or part-time - open to discussion depending on the right candidate
  • Duration: 9-12 months, with the possibility of extension, depending on applicant and business needs

About Guernsey Sea Farms

Guernsey Sea Farms ("GSF") is a shellfish hatchery and nursery on the north-east coast of Guernsey, specialising in the production of oyster seed. We are one of only two hatcheries in the UK and supply oyster seed to customers around the world, including to the UK, Canada and South Africa. In addition to shellfish seed production, GSF also cultivates marine organisms such as copepods for ecotoxicology laboratories.

About the role

This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone at the start of their career in marine science or aquaculture who is eager to learn. You'll work closely alongside our Hatchery and Nursery Managers, gradually building up your skills and confidence across multiple areas of hatchery operations under their supervision. No previous experience is necessary - full training will be provided to the right candidate. We're a small, friendly team and are looking for a motivated, reliable, and physically fit individual with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and enthusiasm for practical, hands-on marine work. This is a diverse role that includes a mix of laboratory, hatchery, and outdoor tasks, so adaptability is essential. Some duties involve precise lab work such as microscopy and record-keeping, while others are more physical and practical. Work primarily occurs Monday to Friday, however responsibilities will include a few hours of weekend and bank holiday work rostered approximately 1-2 times a month (timings flexible) with time off in lieu.

How to apply

If you're motivated and eager to start a career in sustainable aquaculture, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your interest and enthusiasm for the role to: Josie Chandler at [email protected]
