Position: Part-Time & Full-Time Bar/Waiting Staff
Location: The Last Post Pub, St Andrews, Guernsey

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Serve drinks and food to customers promptly and professionally.
  • Take orders at the bar and at tables.
  • Prepare and pour drinks to a high standard.
  • Operate the till and handle cash/card payments accurately.
  • Clear tables, wash glasses, and keep the bar and seating areas clean and tidy.
  • Assist with setting up and closing down the bar/restaurant area.
  • Provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Follow health, safety, and hygiene guidelines at all times.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods — helping wherever needed!

Experience / Qualifications / Education

Experience:

  • Previous experience in bar work, waiting tables, or customer service is an advantage — but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Experience handling cash/card payments and using a till is helpful

Qualifications/Education:

  • No formal qualifications are required.
  • Basic numeracy and good spoken English are important.
  • Food hygiene or bar-related certificates are a plus but not essential — we can help you gain these on the job if needed.

Requirements:

  • Able to work evenings and weekends as part of a rota.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual.
