The Position

Are you an experienced and passionate culinary professional ready to lead a dynamic kitchen team in Guernsey? The Slaughterhouse is seeking a Head Chef to bring creativity, leadership, and excellence to our kitchen.

The Responsibilities


  • Lead and inspire the kitchen brigade to consistently deliver high-quality food
  • Design and update seasonal menus, incorporating local produce and culinary trends
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
  • Manage stock levels, orders, and food cost control
  • Collaborate with hotel management on event catering and special occasions
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff




Experience / Qualifications / Education


  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or high-volume restaurant
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion for fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative cuisine
  • Excellent understanding of cost control and kitchen management
  • A commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience
  • Food Hygiene Level 3
