The Position

As a Pastry Chef you have the following responsibilities and duties:

·         Prepare and produce consistently high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods using seasonal and local produce under the direction of the Head Chef and Sous Chef.

·         Demonstrate expertise in pastry techniques, baking, and presentation.

·         Manage the pastry section of the kitchen and assist other sections and team members when required.

·         Develop and contribute creative ideas for new desserts and sweet menu items.

·         Adhere to all health, safety, and food safety legislation and maintain excellent hygiene standards in the pastry section.

Experience / Qualifications / Education

·         A sound understanding of our dessert and pastry menu and the ability to contribute to its development.

·         Consistent ability to produce high-quality pastries and baked goods.

·         Creativity and a passion for pastry and dessert preparation.

·         A positive and approachable manner.

·         A high level of communication and professionalism.

·         Flexible and hard-working attitude.

·         Ability to take responsibility for all day-to-day tasks.

·         Ability to work well within a team.

·         Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.

·         Minimum 1 year’s relevant pastry experience plus an additional 3 years of kitchen experience.

·         Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
