 We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team of a vibrant Japanese restaurant in Guernsey. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef with solid Japanese cooking experience who wants to work with fresh ingredients, creative menus, and a friendly and professional team in a fast‑growing restaurant.

The Role

·         Run your own section during service, maintaining high culinary standards

·         Prepare and present Japanese dishes with consistency and precision

·         Apply authentic Japanese cooking techniques 

·         Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu development and daily specials

·         Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards are met at all times

·         Assist with stock control, ordering, and waste reduction

·         Support and mentor junior kitchen staff

·         Thrive in a fast‑paced service environment

What We’re Looking For

·         Proven experience as a Chef de Partie (or strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to step up)

·         Experience in Japanese cooking, including: 

          o   Sushi and sashimi preparation

          o   Excellent knife skills

          o   Knowledge of dashi, miso, ramen broths, teriyaki, and yakitori

·         Confidence working with fresh fish and premium ingredients

·         Strong organisational and time‑management skills

·         A genuine passion for Japanese cuisine

·         Ability to work well under pressure as part of a close‑knit team
