Mother’s Helper is a new Guernsey-based business providing practical household support to busy families, working professionals and anyone who needs an extra pair of hands.

We’re looking for reliable, friendly and organised individuals who enjoy helping others and take pride in making a difference.

The role involves visiting clients in their homes to assist with everyday tasks, including laundry, light cleaning, household organisation, errands and general home resets. Every day is different!

We offer flexible working opportunities, with potential part-time or zero-hours contracts. Hours may include weekdays, evenings and occasional weekends, depending on your availability and client demand.

Experience in housekeeping, cleaning or managing a busy household would be beneficial, but a positive attitude, reliability and attention to detail are equally important.

As a Mother’s Helper, you will provide practical household support tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Responsibilities may include:

• Laundry, ironing and changing bed linen.
• General tidying, light cleaning and household organisation.
• Organising children’s toys, clothing and nursery spaces.
• Kitchen organisation, washing up and fridge cleaning.
• Grocery collections, parcel returns and other errands.
• Seasonal household tasks and general home resets.

You will be responsible for managing your time effectively, following client instructions and maintaining a professional, friendly and respectful approach.

This role does not involve childcare, personal care or medical responsibilities.

Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or managing a busy household is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for reliable, trustworthy and organised individuals with excellent attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.

Applicants must be comfortable working independently in clients’ homes, respect confidentiality and be able to travel between appointments.

No formal qualifications are required. Full training and guidance will be provided.
