The Position
We are looking for a motivated and committed individual to deliver excellent customer service and manage the stock, orders and deliveries related to the Home Improvement Centre.
The Responsibilities
· Assist customers visiting the Floors and Doors section to locate appropriate products.
· Provide attentive service to understand the customer’s needs.
· Provide the customer with relevant product information and escalate when necessary to ensure the customer receives the full product information. Upsell other associated products when appropriate.
· Manage and distribute the incoming special orders and stock for the Building Centre.
· Using a forklift truck, move stock/orders from the ‘Goods In’ area to the stock store.
· Collate customer orders and liaise with other Sections to arrange a timely delivery.
· Follow up on outstanding orders and delivery.
· Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles and unloading returns.
· Support other sections of the Building Centre with stock replenishment.
· Support the stock monitoring/counting process for the Building Centre.
· Ensure the sections displays are clean and pleasing to the eye to attract maximum attention.
· Assist with the rearrangement of the sections displays.
· Ensure the product library is always fully stocked.
· Be proactive in ensuring the stock storage area is organised, clean, free of hazards and meets the Company’s Health and Safety standards.
· Be proactive in expanding product knowledge using the BMF platform.
· Be proactive in forging strong working relationships with our supplies, drawing on their expertise of the products to improve your knowledge.
· Assist other sections within the Building Centre, as and when required.
· Gain knowledge of products available within other sections of the Building Centre.
Experience / Qualifications / Education
· Customer focused.
· Understanding of working to high service levels or willingness to learn.
· Strives to build and maintain productive working relationships.
· Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
· Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Confident with IT systems and able to adapt to bespoke systems.
· Strong verbal, written and listening skills.
· Strong organisation skills applying attention to detail to all aspects of the role.
· Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
