As the 1857 Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of both front and back of house operations. You will lead the entire team, working with an exceptional head chef to grow the F&B opportunities and events business through: menu development, event execution and effective cost control, collaborating with sales and marketing managers to promote the 1857 business.

The Responsibilities
1. Oversee all aspects of front and back of house operations, rota management optimisation to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service at all times to match demand.
2. Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff, fostering a positive, team and company-oriented culture.
3. Manage budgets, control costs, rotas, and monitor financial performance to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
4. Plan and develop menus in collaboration with the kitchen team, ensuring quality, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.
5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety, maintenance and cleanliness.
6. Oversee inventory management, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure stock levels and quality are maintained.
7. Collaborate with sales and marketing managers to plan, promote, and deliver events and campaigns that drive footfall and revenue.
8. Lead the delivery of in-venue promotions, sporting events, and private functions, ensuring a memorable guest experience.
9. Handle customer sales and bookings enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
10. Prepare and present regular reports on sales, costs, events, and team performance to senior management.
11. Identify opportunities for business improvement and growth, implementing new ideas to enhance the 1857 offering.
Experience / Qualifications / Education
1. Proven experience managing both front and back of house in a busy bar, restaurant, or hospitality venue.
2. Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
3. Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving profitability.
4. Tech-savvy and adaptable to new hospitality technologies.
5. Experience in menu planning, events management, and delivering high standards of food and beverage service.
6. Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
7. Knowledge of health, safety, and licensing regulations.
8. A passion for hospitality, food, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
