The Position
Help us end financial exclusion in Guernsey
At Guernsey Community Savings we arrange access to basic banking services for islanders who can’t open a bank account and offer financial education to those who need it.
We are looking for a Client Services Officer to be part of our small and friendly team.
If you have experience of working in finance and using online systems, and you are empathetic, with good communication skills and keen to help people who have been financially excluded, this could be the perfect role for you.
The Responsibilities
The Client Services Officer:
- Maintains GCS’ client account opening procedures
- Identifies client issues, concerns or needs and works to resolve effectively and efficiently
- Liaises with the account services provider when issues require escalating
- Maintains accurate client records
- Records and tracks client communications for follow up and future reference
- Works within GCS policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidance, including in respect of AML/CFT
- Delivers money management / budgeting advice
Experience / Qualifications / Education
Candidates should have:
- A desire to assist the disadvantaged in our community and a sympathetic approach to supporting them
- Good verbal and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and at an appropriate level
- The ability to build rapport with clients and resolve issues in a calm, efficient manner with empathy and patience
- A practical and effective approach to problem solving
- Good levels of literacy and numeracy with attention to detail
- A good understanding of Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Experience and good understanding of banking or financial services
