Quarry Fitter

As a Fitter based at Les Vardes Quarry, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently undertaking planned maintenance and repairs to the site and equipment.  Reporting to our Fixed Plant Maintenance Manager, contributing to the development of safe working practices and responding quickly and flexibly to breakdowns, you’ll maintain a high standard of housekeeping, liaise closely with site management.  

Other key responsibilities of the Fitter include:

·        daily plant inspections

·        monitoring and logging all breakdowns and stoppages

·        completing and adhering to all safety-related documentation  

·        taking good care of all plant assets entrusted to you.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Fitter with a working knowledge of quarry process plants, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and technically qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. However, for individuals with mechanical experience in other industrial applications, comprehensive cross training will be provided.  Experience and qualification in work at height, in confined spaces, operating a forklift and planning crane lifts would be an advantage. You will need to be an excellent communicator and team-worker, with a sound working knowledge of engineering drawings and the ability to plan and implement maintenance schedules.   In addition to your enthusiastic approach and good grasp of Health & Safety, you can also offer:
