Truck Operator

We are looking for a Truck Operator to join the team at Guernsey Petroleum Distributors Ltd (GPD Ltd). If you are a professional driver who enjoys working independently, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and thrives in a hands-on role, we'd love to hear from you.

As one of Guernsey's leading fuel distributors, we provide essential fuel delivery services to a wide range of commercial and domestic customers across the island. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys being on the road, working as part of a professional team, and playing a vital role in keeping customers supplied safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring fuel deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time. You'll take responsibility for vehicle and equipment checks, maintain high safety standards, and provide excellent customer service while representing GPD Ltd.

• Load and unload fuel at depot and customer sites independently.
• Follow assigned delivery routes without supervision.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. 
• Operate Vehicle pumps/ metering equipment, and spill/fire equipment (training provided).
• Comply with local traffic laws.
• Report delivery issues, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
• Wear appropriate safety gear (provided) and follow health & safety protocols.
• Complete delivery notes, timesheets, and other documentation.
• Promote GPD during customer interactions.

• A valid, clean Cat C driving licence.
• Minimum age of applicant 23 years
• ADR and PDP licence (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous driving experience, (Minimum of 2 years driving HGV’s) ideally in fuel delivery.
• Good understanding of health & safety practices.

• Working hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am – 4:00pm Friday (39 hour week)
