Painter

To undertake painting and refurbishment works to the GEL Assets and equipment as directed.

• Conduct painting and refurbishment maintenance works on Distribution Department assets in accordance with established maintenance plans and to the appropriate standards required.
• Conduct painting works to new engineering equipment as required during delivery of capital projects, to ensure a high standard and long-term finish.
• Conduct painting and refurbishment works to Generation equipment as required, to ensure the life of the equipment.
• To meet all GEL Policies and Procedures relating to H&S and painting works. 

• Requires a practical knowledge of a wide range of general building practices, ideally with a painting/decorating qualification. 
• Needs to understand technical paint systems and utilise them in a correct and safe manner.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Must possess a good general level of fitness to be able to undertake aspects of the role including working a height.
• Driving licence.
