The Position
Trident Trust is a leading independent provider of corporate, trust and fund services to the financial services sector worldwide.
We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Group IT Team, and be based in our Guernsey office.
The L2 Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will report to the Regional Head of IT in Europe and provide advanced technical support for cloud and on-premises IT environments, focusing on designing, implementing, and optimising solutions to meet business needs. This role involves mentoring L1 support staff, managing escalated issues, and ensuring IT systems are secure, compliant, and highly efficient. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and strategic input, ensuring the robust operation of the organisation's IT infrastructure.
The Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Provide support for local systems, printers, network connectivity, and user devices, ensuring swift resolution of escalated incidents. Deliver on-the-ground coordination when required in local office.
- Document and monitor IT processes, cloud infrastructure and procedure to ensure compliance and enhance operational efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and supervise L1 support staff, fostering continuous improvement within the team.
- Participate in regional IT strategy discussions, contributing to the planning and budgeting process.
- Offer backup support for L1 tasks, such as email releases, when needed.
- Undertake travel within the region to address issues requiring on-site presence or to oversee projects that necessitate team supervision, as needed.
Azure Backend Environment
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of Azure cloud solutions, aligning them with the Group objectives.
- Collaborate with TADM to execute advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning for Azure systems, ensuring optimal operational efficiency,
- Collaborate with stakeholders (such as internal teams and third party vendors) to scale and adapt cloud infrastructure to meet evolving business needs.
Intune Management
- Define and enforce advanced policies for device management, ensuring compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Oversee endpoint security strategies and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to safeguard company assets.
Experience / Qualifications / Education
- Cloud Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud solutions, including design, implementation, optimisation, and performance tuning.
- Azure Entra ID: Proficiency in managing Azure Entra ID workflows, including MFA, identity federation, and role-based access control.
- Intune Management: Expertise in MDM, endpoint security strategies, and compliance policy enforcement.
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): Hands-on experience with administration, optimisation, and incident resolution for AVD.
- BCP/DR: Capability to develop, execute, and optimise BCP and DR strategies.
- Networking: Proficiency in supporting local systems, network connectivity, and troubleshooting escalated incidents.
- IT Process Management: Experience with documenting and monitoring IT processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
