The Position


The role of an Active Travel Officer is to create the conditions that inspire people of all ages to get active, whether it is walking, cycling or scooting to school or work, between mee
Work with schools and early years settings to develop effective travel polices, as part of a whole school approach to physical activity.

As an Active Travel Officer, you will: 

Work with local employers, healthcare providers, charities and agencies, to support policies and practices which promote cycling and walking. 

Advocate for and provide evidence to support the designing of cycling and walking infrastructure into existing and new developments and strategies. 

Understand and apply current evidence-based approaches to promote active travel and be a reasoned and trusted voice within the community.

Up to 30 hours per week (subject to negotiation) £35,000 to £40,000 PA, pro-rated
