Trainee Boat Crew/Engineer

The Isle of Sark Shipping Company are recruiting a full time, Trainee Boat Crew/Engineer to start as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for someone to either embark on, or change to, a career in seafaring with a full training program being provided. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting passengers to dis/embark, assisting with the safe operations of the vessel, maintenance duties such as cleaning, painting, general upkeep of the vessel etc. and,  with their fellow crew members, work to ensure the provision of safe, reliable, friendly and efficient passenger and freight shipping services to Sark.   

Essential - Valid Guernsey Right to Work, physically fit, reliable and with good timekeeping. Must be flexible,  willing to learn, open to training opportunities and have a ‘can do’ attitude.  

Desirable - Experience working in a trade and/or maritime background, RYA Yachtmaster, Coastal Skipper, Day Skipper, PBL2 or similar. However, the position includes a full training program, with no experience required.
