The Position

  Purpose of the Role
 
 To supporting the Decorating & Building Centre Supervisor and working within the team to promote and sell products within the Doors and Floors department. To be proactive and provide outstanding customer service. Proven experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential.
 



  

 

The Responsibilities

Assist with the day-to-day operations in the Building Centre and Joinery (Doors and Floors) departments - over the phone and in person.

·         Greeting customers and offering assistance, recommending products, drawing attention to offers and referring on to experts when required.

·         Working to the schedules and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

·         Ensuring excellent customers service levels are always achieved and maintained - building long term customer relationships.

·         Gain knowledge of product information, remain abreast of the latest industry trends and researching required information using available resources.

·         Processing orders and working with other departments to schedule prompt delivery of orders. 

·         Handling and resolving basic complaints - escalating critical issues to management.

·         Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the department manager to aid business / department success.

·         Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.

·         Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy. 

Experience / Qualifications / Education

·         Sales and customer service experience.

·         Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work efficiently at times of pressure. 

·         Basic commercial awareness. 

·         Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.

·         Ability to work within teams and adapt to different environments.

·         Works in a calm, courteous and professional manner at all times.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer service software.

  • Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
