The Position

Based at one of our three main surgeries, Rohais, St Martins and Cobo, as the first point of contact for our patients your primary role is to answer and field telephone calls in a timely and efficient manner ensuring a professional approach and image for the Practice is maintained. You will also be required to assist with general administrative duties as directed by the Unit Lead.  


The Responsibilities

  • Ensure telephone calls are answered in a, timely, polite and pleasant manner. 
  • Respond appropriately to communication or queries from patients by telephone.
  • Transfer calls to relevant department / personnel.
  • Record messages and pass them to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Make appointments using the computer appointment system in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • When required, take payments from patients over the telephone by processing their bank card details.
  • Update patient information on the patient electronic record system i.e. change of address, phone number etc.
  • Record every patient interaction to the patient electronic record system.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as directed.
  • Work flexibly as part of the team by assisting colleagues - taking holidays in rotation and working at other surgeries within the Group if required during times of staff shortage.
  • To be adaptable to a changing and evolving environment.


Experience / Qualifications / Education

  • Good Standard of Education
  • Understanding the need for confidentiality
  • No previous experience necessary
