Kitchen Porter

Blue Chicken House Bakery is growing and preparing to move into new premises. We’re looking for hardworking, reliable Kitchen Porters to join our production team.

The main focus is washing up, cleaning equipment and keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and organised. This is practical, physically active work, and we need people who are happy to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in and take pride in doing the job properly.

You’ll also help with packing cookies and basic kitchen tasks when needed, but washing up and cleaning will be your main responsibilities.

Part-time hours are available, with the potential for full-time hours for the right candidates. The role involves 6am starts, so applicants must be available for early mornings.

Applicants must already have the right to work in Guernsey or be eligible to obtain a Guernsey employment permit.

• Washing kitchen equipment, trays, mixing bowls and utensils
• Cleaning and sanitising work surfaces and equipment
• Keeping kitchen floors and production areas clean and tidy
• Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly
• Keeping clean equipment organised and ready for use
• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Helping with packing cookies and preparing orders when required
• Supporting the team with basic kitchen and production tasks as needed

Previous Kitchen Porter or busy-kitchen experience would be an advantage, but not essential. We’re looking for a strong work ethic, reliability and a willingness to learn.
