The Position

We are looking for a motivated individual who is looking to start a career in sales with a respected local company and the opportunity for future progression. The successful applicant will be developed within the established sales team with opportunities for continuous training and development.

The ideal candidate will enjoy customer interaction and be willing to learn products and stock items for the benefit of the customers they serve and the team.  

The Responsibilities

·         Engaging with customers in a profession manner, over the phone, via email and in person, offering information on stock product ranges and supplying pricing for customers.

·         Understand and respond to customer needs, identify potential sales opportunities, and recommend suitable products. Actively pursue upselling and cross-selling across all product categories to drive sales and customer retention.

·         Process payments, manage orders, and collaborate with the Transport Department to schedule deliveries, including handling logistics for off-island deliveries

·         Build relationships with suppliers, ensuring they meet service expectations and provide competitive products. Regularly review and suggest improvements to product lines to enhance sales performance.

·         Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating complex issues when necessary. Manage customer returns and ensure efficient resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.

·         Monitor trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities across all product lines. Attend sales meetings to share insights and strategies for growth.

·         Engage in continuous learning through supplier training and self-study, and sales techniques. Identify personal training needs and seek opportunities to develop skills.

·         Complete any other reasonable duties as directed by the Sales Manager to aid business / department success.

·         Adhere to Group Policies and Procedures.

·         Adhere to the Group Health and Safety Policy.

Experience / Qualifications / Education

·         Strong product knowledge across all departments.

·         Proven sales and customer service experience, desired but not essential

·         Commercial awareness and ability to identify sales opportunities.

·         Excellent communication, both verbal and written.

·         Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and thrive under pressure.

·         Attention to detail and high accuracy.

·         Collaborative team player with a professional attitude.

·         Maintain customer confidentiality.

·         Stay updated on customer service practices and product knowledge

·         Ensure high levels of organisation and accuracy in all tasks
