The Position
Are you an experienced and passionate culinary professional ready to lead a dynamic kitchen team in one of Guernsey’s most scenic coastal hotels? The Imperial Hotel is seeking a Head Chef to bring creativity, leadership, and excellence to our kitchen.
📍 Location: The Imperial Hotel, Rocquaine Bay, Torteval, Guernsey
🕒 Position: Full-time | Permanent
💼 Salary: Competitive + performance-based bonuses
🏨 Accommodation: Staff accommodation available (if required)
The Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the kitchen brigade to consistently deliver high-quality food
- Design and update seasonal menus, incorporating local produce and culinary trends
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Manage stock levels, orders, and food cost control
- Collaborate with hotel management on event catering and special occasions
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff
Experience / Qualifications / Education
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or high-volume restaurant
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative cuisine
- Excellent understanding of cost control and kitchen management
- A commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience
- Food Hygiene Level 3
