Role Overview:

We are seeking a Pharmacy Dispenser to support our team in the dispensing of medications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to patient well-being. 

Requirements:

Pharmacy Dispenser Certification (NVQ2).

Prior experience in a pharmacy or dispensary setting.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to offer advice to patients.

·        Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescribed specialised medicines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

·        Ensure the safe and secure handling of specialised medicines, including storage, stock control, and record-keeping.

·        Assist the pharmacist with the delivery of pharmaceutical care, providing advice to patients where appropriate.

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure all prescriptions are processed correctly.

·        Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their carers, providing a high level of customer service.

·        Support the pharmacy team in managing inventory, including ordering and stock checks.

·        Ensure that all dispensing activities are in line with GPhC regulations and legal requirements.

·        Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent) is essential.

·        Previous experience as a Pharmacy Dispenser.

·        Knowledge and experience in handling specialised medicines (e.g., biologics, injectables, or controlled drugs) is desirable.

·        A strong understanding of GPhC guidelines, and relevant legislation.

·        Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.

·        Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

·        IT literacy, including experience with pharmacy systems and software.
