Operations Assistant

Job Purpose:                 

To receive and rotate refrigerated foods working in the cold room 

Heavy lifting required

 To provide a high standard of service to the customer.  

 To maximise sales and minimise losses through ensuring the efficient operation and control of services to the sales floor. 

To assist with the receipt and distribution of stock upon delivery.

To open/close the store, and act as key holder ensuring security of building, as directed

Ensure all cold chain products are kept within the correct temperature ranges. And date rotated to minimise waste.

Working at all locations including Ferry Speed. 

Flexibility is needed as hours of work may change depending on the arrival time of the ferry bring the food to the island.

Key Tasks

- Implement correct store procedures for the collection/movement of baskets/trolleys
- Implement correct ‘collect by car’ procedure both on the sales floor and in the operations area in the town store
- Assist with the movement of stock and equipment to ensure the correct levels of service are provided to the sales floors
- Maintain business standards in all operations areas
- Assist with the maintenance of the premises and surrounding environment 
- Assist with weekly testing of the fire alarm system, Emergency lights and sprinkler for all stores. Also understanding fire marshal duties.
- Escort cash collection and movement of cash through the store as and when required
- Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the stores, adhering to company procedures, as and when required
- Provide support to the operations team based within the warehouse & furniture delivers as and when required 
- Ensure all due diligence documentation is maintained , recorded and delivered to the required standard in a timely manner 
- Provide courteous and efficient service to the customer
- Communicate effectively with customers, management, staff and visitors-

Refrigeration 
- - To maintain and be part of the ‘on-call’ rota for the refrigeration system

Theft and Loss
- Be aware of theft and loss implications and take action where applicable

Developing Self 
- Take ownership for personal development needs in anticipation of Company requirements.

No experience necessary.  Basic english is required
