Plant Area Manager

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Plants Manager to join our team at Earlswood Garden Centre.

You will be responsible for managing our fabulous plant area through sourcing and displaying plants, providing excellent customer service, sharing product knowledge and giving excellent advice. The ideal candidate will have a real passion and knowledge for plants and be able to share that with enthusiasm.

Please note that this role will require some heavy lifting of bags of compost or similar. The role is full time, 40 hours a week, working 5 days in 7, including weekends and some bank holidays.

* Source plants and build a strong relationship with suppliers 
* Inspire customers through stimulating plant displays
* Share product knowledge with customers and give excellent advice
* Drive sales and profitability through careful buying, promotions and stock control
* Handle customer inquiries
* Lead a small team during high season 
* Maintain a clean and organised work area
* Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times

* Horticultural and/or gardening experience 
* Retail experience in a similar setting preferable
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 
* Attention to detail
