The Position
To provide support to customers through email correspondence and over the phone including dealing with emergency call outs. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and ability to manage a busy diary system. To handle enquiries relating to all aspects of electrical and plumbing works and recording this information in an electronic filing system. To produce commercial and domestic invoices in a timely manner.
The Responsibilities
- To provide a professional telephone service to customers in accordance with internal service standards and to ensure a timely response to customers.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the GEL Electrical & Plumbing Team by providing professional administrative support to assist the business in meeting its objectives.
- To deal effectively with all customers, including routine enquiries from members of the public, receiving and responding to incoming communication (e.g., telephone calls, emails and letters) and to resolve general enquiries at first point of contact, wherever possible.
- To update and maintain databases as required to meet service needs, ensuring information is entered consistently, accurately and in line with internal policies and statutory requirements.
- Store and archive all information in accordance with established policies and procedures to enable efficient retrieval.
- To produce commercial and domestic purchase orders and invoices and deal efficiently with subsequent customer queries.
- To implement and explain processes, procedures, and policies to customers to ensure collection of all sums due to GEL Electrical & Plumbing while protecting the image of the organisation.
- Be aware of and comply with local legislation, specifically related to Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection.
Experience / Qualifications / Education
- Excellent customer relation skills or history of a customer service background.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to multitask.
- High level of accuracy in recording of information.
- The ability to prioritise a workload.
- The ability to use own initiative.
- Basic knowledge of electrics and plumbing is desirable.
- A good team player.
- The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced office environment
