The Position

Digimap are seeking a person to join us as a GIS Analyst and Product Support person

Digimap is a small mapping and software development agency with a vacancy for an individual keen to join the world of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and application development and support. 

We provide services and solutions to Government and non Government organisations, Charities and individuals, priding itself on innovation and consistently good customer service with an eye on the art of the possible.

We are looking for an individual with the capability to grow into the role – an individual who is self motivated, keen to learn and enjoys a challenge. You will be supported by a small, passionate team, provided with training and will be welcomed into our business.  The role includes: 

·         Developing understanding and utilising the latest Geographical Information Systems (GIS) to undertake geospatial analysis and create bespoke mapping solutions for a wide                customer base including Government, Utilities, Health, and Environmental agencies.

·         Providing Digimap clients with support on our core products such as ESRI GIS Software, Leica Differential GPS hardware, and software.

·         Creating and innovating Digimap marketing and social media activities. 


The Responsibilities

·         Development of geographic information system (GIS) solutions for clients using products such as Esri GIS Software, Spatial Analytics & Location Intelligence

·         Supporting clients GIS solutions including Leica products: When it has to be right | Leica Geosystems (leica-geosystems.com)

·         Promote the use of GIS and create innovative solutions using the latest technologies

·         Keep abreast of the latest GIS innovations and investigate how these can be used to create efficiencies and solutions for customers 

·         Promote the mapping data sets and actively investigate potential new uses and customer opportunities

·         Assist with training on mapping software and products for Digimap customers

·         First line support of support for software/systems deployed by Digimap

         (Triaging and prioritising support requests)

·         Day to day management of your own workloads and priorities


Experience / Qualifications / Education

·         Logical thinker with analytical skills

·         Excellent telephone and communication skills

·         High level of professional presentation

·         Customer service focussed

·         Proficient in Microsoft applications

·         Ability to learn and become proficient in new applications/products such as Leica and Esri products

·         Ability to efficiently manage own time and prioritise

·         Observance of safe working practices and procedures

·         Understand and comply with the Data Protection Law as it relates to the position

·         A background in GIS would be advantageous.
