B6 Physiotherapist in Trauma and Orthopaedics

Guernsey Therapy Group Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist to come and join our experienced and dynamic Orthopaedic team. The post holder will provide specialised physiotherapy management for elective and trauma orthopaedic inpatients.  There is a trauma ward and an elective ward and we provide cover to the Day Patient Unit, ICU and community patients.  We also provide a pre-assessment service for elective patients and a weekend orthopaedic service.

The post holder will be responsible for conducting physiotherapy assessments, treatment and ongoing rehab plans, ward organisation and management.  They will also be responsible for supervision and delegating to physiotherapy assistants and students.

Education/Qualifications/Training

·         Appropriate Physiotherapy professional Qualification e.g. MCSP / BSc or MSc

·         State Registered with Health Professional Council

·         CSP or equivalent professional registration

·         Evidence of CPD in Orthopaedic physiotherapy in the form of a detailed professional portfolio

Experience - Essential

·         Minimum 2 years post-graduation.

·         Post-graduate experience within specialised service area.

·         Specialised knowledge and experience of a range of approaches to the management of orthopaedic and rehabilitation patients.

·         Previous experience of work in inter- and multidisciplinary teams.

Experience - Desirable

·         Knowledge or practical use of audit.

·         Experience supervising other staff or students.
