General Maintenance Operative

To provide general maintenance services to G4S Facilities Management (“FM”) customers and any general maintenance duties at G4S-occupied sites. The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure that all Water Management customers have all of their maintenance requirements facilitated and correctly recorded on a regular basis.

Primary Duties

• To complete all temperature monitoring, descaling and other basic tasks associated with the control of Legionella in the workplace within the month that they are due to include full reporting to ensure compliance.
• To carry out basic repair and building works at G4S customer sites where required;
• To offer a high degree of customer service to customers whilst on site;
• To identify and highlight to your line manager any additional maintenance work that is required at any customer or company location;
• To carry out basic repairs and preventative maintenance work at G4S-occupied sites within the employee’s capabilities;
• To support other areas of the FM business unit, providing additional resource within the employee’s capabilities where required; and
• Ensure that all information required for invoicing purposes and customer liaison, i.e. worksheets, are completed as per the company’s guidelines, and provided in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Experience

• No formal qualifications required; 
• Previous customer service experience is essential; and
• Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.

• Driving Licence is essential;
• Initiate and take decisive action;
• Confident and articulate communicator;
• Methodical and high attention to detail; and
• Basic handyman skills in a commercial environment
